Hatsya (Iota Orionis) is the southern most and brightest star of the three stars forming the sword in the constellation of Orion. Iota Orionis is also known by the Arabic name Na'ir al Saif, which translates to "the Bright One in the Sword." A class O (O9) giant, Iota Orionis is a multiple star system and has a very close companion that orbits every twenty-nine days, which cannot be resolved in a telescope.

In the 203mm SCT at 111x with the 18mm eyepiece, Iot Ori appears as a closely spaced pair. The primary is white colored and the much fainter secondary has a pale green tint. Iot Ori is actually a triple star system, with the other companion appearing to have a purple color.

At 121x with the 7.5mm eyepiece in the 114mm reflector, Iot Ori appears as a very closely spaced pair of stars. The secondary star is much fainter than the primary star, which has a bluish tint.

With the 17mm (74x) eyepiece in the ETX-90, Iot Ori appears as a closely spaced pair. The bright primary is white. The much fainter secondary may have a blue tint, but the color kept coming and going.
